Voice of McDonald's

In 2009-2010, we celebrated the outstanding talent of the people who work in our restaurants as only McDonald’s can: by holding a singing contest open to our 1.6 million employees in 117 countries – for the third time. McDonald’s created this competition to show our commitment to our employees through the ultimate, international language of music, and to offer them a world-class opportunity to achieve their dreams. It’s one of the ways we make McDonald’s a great place to work, delivering the core attributes of our Employee Value Proposition of “Family & Friends, Flexibility and Future.”

Almost 10,500 McDonald’s employees from 51 countries participated in the 2009-2010 competition, and 20 McDonald’s markets held local Voice of McDonald’s contests, bringing even higher levels of local relevance and involvement. Thirty semifinalists recorded professional-quality videos that appeared online and were viewed more than 1 million times, with thousands of followers through social media. Then 12 global finalists each won a paid trip (with a guest) to the McDonald’s 2010 Worldwide Convention in Orlando, Florida, USA, where they competed for top honors. Prizes ranged from US$3,000 to the grand prize of US$25,000.

Through the Voice of McDonald’s competition and other programs that celebrate the spirit and talents of our people, we also recognize their skills to deliver simple, easy and enjoyable experiences for our customers.
We were thrilled to announce Chenee Capuyan from the Philippines as our winner in April 2010.
