Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use U.S. McDonald's Arch Cards/gift certificates in foreign countries or can I get gift certificates for countries outside the U.S.?

At this time, Arch Cards are only good for use in participating restaurants in the U.S. For comprehensive information about purchasing and using the Arch Card, please click here for the Arch Card site.

Unfortunately, due to the differing currencies and exchange rates, McDonald’s U.S. gift certificates are good only in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico. Also McDonald’s Home Office does not have gift certificates for countries outside of the U.S. You may want to address your question to the McDonald’s office in the country of interest. Click here for a list of McDonald’s international offices.

Do all U.S. restaurants accept credit cards?

Seventy-five percent of all McDonald’s restaurants are independently owned and operated. Acceptance of credit cards at the restaurant is the ultimate decision of each franchise owner.

How do I share an idea with McDonald's about a new product, service, promotional concept or other innovation that I believe would benefit McDonald's?

It is our company’s policy not to consider unsolicited ideas from outside the McDonald’s system. Because we are always working on new ideas and strategies within the Company, we do not review ideas from outside McDonald’s to avoid confusion over the origin of an idea. We realize that we may be missing out on a few good ideas, but we had to adopt this policy for legal and business reasons.

How would my company do business with McDonald's?

While McDonald's Corporation appreciates companies and suppliers who take their time to send us corporate information and propositions for business alliances, the large volume of unsolicited business proposals received by McDonald's precludes acknowledgement of this information. It is our policy to initiate contact with outside suppliers on as needed basis.

Where can I find your Annual Report or systemwide sales?

I am interested in planning a birthday party at McDonald's. How can I find out more information?

Thank you for your interest in learning more about birthday party packages at McDonald’s restaurants. Most McDonald’s restaurants are franchised by independent owner/operators, and final decisions to offer birthday party packages (and their prices, if available) are made by the management of each restaurant. To find out more about the availability of birthday parties at a particular McDonald’s restaurant, please contact the manager of that restaurant. For McDonald’s restaurant phone numbers click here.

How can I get coupons to use at a McDonald's restaurant?

McDonald's menu is priced to provide the best value to our customers.  As such, McDonald's does not currently have coupons on our national website. However, McDonald's occasionally sends e-coupons and McDonald's news by e-mail. To subscribe to receive promotional offers from McDonald's, click here. You should also know that some regional markets may have their own coupon program or occasionally insert coupons in your local newspaper. To visit your local McDonald's regional website, please visit www.mcstate.com.
