Jan Fields
President, McDonald's USA, LLC Jan Fields is President, McDonald's USA, LLC. In this role, Ms. Fields is responsible for the strategic direction and overall business results of the 14,000 McDonald’s restaurants in the United States. Previously, Ms. Fields was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, where she oversaw the operations of the U.S. McDonald’s restaurants. Since beginning her career as a crew member in 1978, Ms. Fields has worked at all levels of the company, from the restaurants to management. She has served as president and senior vice president of McDonald’s Central Division, senior vice president in the former Southeast Division and regional vice president of the Pittsburgh region. Ms. Fields has been honored with many awards including the McDonald’s President’s Award, the Golden Arch Partners Award, the Women Operators Network Recognition Award and the Women’s Leadership Award. An advocate for people development, she is actively involved in the company’s mentoring and diversity programs, acting as Executive Sponsor for the Career Development program and speaking at many Diversity Network meetings. Outside of McDonald's, she currently serves on the boards of St. Louis-based Monsanto, the Chicago Urban League, and United Cerebral Palsy, as well as chairs the advisory board of Catalyst, a leading women's organization. She is also a member of The Chicago Network, an organization of professional women in the upper echelons of business, the arts, government and academia. Ms. Fields has also been named to Forbes’ 2008 and 2009 lists of The World’s 100 Most Powerful Women, Fortune’s 50 Most Powerful Women in Business 2007, 2008 and 2009 lists, the Wall Street Journal’s 50 Women to Watch 2007 list, and Crain’s Chicago Business’ 2007 list of 25 Women to Watch. Ms. Fields and her husband, Doug, reside in the Chicago area.
