Application Process

Thank you for your interest to explore corporate career opportunities for McDonald’s. We believe in hiring top talent and understand that top talent like you want to know what steps are needed to apply, interview, and ultimately be selected for a role with McDonald’s Corporation. Here are the core steps of the staffing process:

Searching for career opportunities…

Current opportunities can be searched by Category, Keyword Search, and/or State. We also encourage you to sign-up for job alerts, where we will email you as soon as future opportunities are advertised in functional areas of your interest.

Once you have submitted your online application…

We require all candidates to apply for opportunities online. Once you have explored our current opportunities and completed your online application, a member of our human resources team and the hiring manager will review resumes. You will be contacted if your experience, skills, education, and background best match the requirements for the opportunity.

If you are selected for a follow-up screening…

If selected in the above review, the recruiter will contact you for an initial screen of your qualifications. This will be in the form of a phone interview, questionnaire, or a combination of both. Please be prepared to explain your strengths, developmental interests, accomplishments, goals, work history, and salary history & expectations. At this time, we will share more details about the role and where we are in the recruiting process.

Being invited for an on-site interview…

The hiring manager and recruiter will decide from the initial screening who to invite for an on-site interview. Besides meeting with the hiring manager, interviews may consist of meeting with key stakeholders, peers, and leadership. Depending on the size of the hiring team, multiple visits may be required.

Pre-employment screening conducted for top applicants…

Our pre-employment screening process consists of employment & education verification, social security check, criminal record review, and reference checking.

Informing interviewed applicants of the decision…

The hiring manager and interviewers will make the final decision. All applicants who are interviewed will be notified once the recruiting process has concluded.

Overall Staffing Timeline

Hiring managers have varying timeframes for making decisions. The entire staffing process can take as little as 30 days but with international travel and business priorities, positions can also be open as long as 90 days. Once a recruiter has contacted you directly, you may contact them during the recruiting process for updates.
