Meet Karen King, President, East Division, McDonald's USA

It's been more than 30 years now, and Karen King has never once dreamed of saying no to an opportunity at McDonald's - and her impressive career reflects that. From her first position with the Golden Arches (as a crew member) to her current position, managing a $10 billion business, King is proud of her accomplishments, and so are we. She proudly celebrates the successes realized in her division, which have come in large part through individual and team contributions, and insisting on a climate of continuous improvement.

King's East Division has led the nation in sales increases during both years of her presidency, and also led in guest count increases in 2006.

King applauds the unique opportunities available within McDonald's, which she credits for helping her advance for more than three decades. "If you have the will and the drive to grow in this organization, there is no ceiling for what you can achieve," she notes. "McDonald's welcomes diversity of thought, experience, and expertise, and if you have the right combination of these attributes, you can realize tremendous success both personally and professionally."

Working closely with owner/operators and regional leadership, King helps drive results across 5,000 restaurants. She also takes time to speak to owner/operator, employee, and diversity groups on a regular basis and lends her support to charitable causes like Ronald McDonald House Charities.
